Hi There, I’m Scott

I found yoga just over 12 years ago.  After spending a decade in corporate America, I made the decision to live life for my passions: great food, amazing people, adventure, and a healthy mind-body balance. Once I experienced how yoga helped me grow physically and mentally, I was inspired to help others achieve this as well through fitness, yoga, and nutrition coaching.

My lifetime of adventuring in the great Rocky Mountains has inspired my unique style of teaching. My blend of challenging strength-building, cooled off with refreshing flows and restorative mindfulness will inspire and engage all levels of students. I also warm my training sessions and classes with laughter and personal experiences creating a safe space to learn more about yourself and the person you want to be. I actively use the Eight Limbs of Yoga to allow each student time to re-center, renew, and strengthen against the worldly elements that weather away our best self. My training as a yoga teacher allows me to lead my training sessions with a safety-first approach that meets each student where they are mentally and physically.

I am truly passionate about the people I work with.  When I am not in the yoga studio or gym you can usually find me in the kitchen cooking something spicy and delicious for my favorite people or rock climbing in the Colorado Wilderness.  Whether you’re an experienced yogi or someone just starting their fitness journey, I will walk the path with you!  Join me for a Rocky Mountain fitness adventure.

What is High Altitude Fitness and Mindfulness?

Great question! Let’s start with some facts about Colorado. The Centennial State is an average altitude of 6,800 ft above sea level. That makes Colorado the highest state in the country.

What does that mean for people living at that altitude?

It means just living here is harder on the body than living at sea level. In Colorado Springs, we have roughly 4% less usable oxygen in the air than at sea level. In order to keep you moving every day, your body has to produce more red blood cells to carry more oxygen in your blood.

The Olympic Training Center is located in Colorado Springs for this reason. The world’s best athletes come here to train to get better, faster, and stronger. Our amazing bodies adapt to the stresses we put them through and become more resilient.

At Coloradoman Fitness, I combine the latest in science-based workout techniques with my lifetime of experience living, working, and playing at high altitudes. I combine a particular mix of interval training, resistance training, and yoga to craft a personalized fitness experience aimed at whole-body wellness. Because feeling good should be your every day.

Where does mindfulness come into play?

I am a firm believer that whole-body wellness includes a quiet and focused mind. The mind tells the body what to do, not the other way around. You deserve to be strong inside and out. That starts with developing a strong mind-body connection. I bring my clients through a particular mix of mind-body connection developing exercises and breathing techniques. This is designed to help prevent injuries, relieve stress, and create a meditative focus on the task at hand. Developing a strong mind also helps my clients overcome challenges and obstacles in their daily life outside the studio.

We all lead busy lives. Now, more than ever, we are constantly bombarded with our digital lives and the stresses of life. Given a few minutes of quiet, our minds will typically wander to our endless to-do list, that day’s stressors, or a digital distraction (Facebook, TikTok…the list goes on). Through my years of yoga experience, I have learned and practiced countless techniques on how to quiet and focus the mind. From this experience, I bring something special to my clients. I teach each of my clients simple, functional, and reliable mindfulness techniques that can be used inside and outside the studio. These tools are used to help you get the most out of your fitness routines, stay more present when it matters most, and melt away the stresses of our everyday lives.

Strong Body. Quiet Mind. Open Heart
